Winter Festival 2009

Kinnersley Castle, Herefordshire
Friday 13th to Sunday 22nd February 2009
15th edition...
Another year, another Kinnersley. Not to be taken for granted, definitely to be enjoyed and cherished.
The 15th Winter Festival brings along with the Kinnersley magic an extraordinarily rich programme of artists.
The first half, strongly Scandinavian, introduces softer tones for Roros pols played by Leif Ingvar Ranoien on accordion and for Swedish music by accordion/fiddle duo Martin Coudroy and Lena Jonsson.
Erik Rydvall will be playing and teaching nyckelharpa, a first at the Castle. Petra Eriksson and Anton Schneider will be teaching dances from Sweden and Torill Jorgensen with Rolf Feragen dances from Norway.
OutreManche provides exquisite diversity for the Sunday bal.
From Thursday we have an exceptional duo teaching dance to songs from Gascony : Pierre Corbefin and Philippe Marsac. Joining them will be duo 'Göze' - Wim Clayes and Maarten Decombel- together with their guest Gilles Chabenat.
The Thursday bal is headed by Ultraviolet and Julian Sutton will provide the cream topping on Saturday.
Anne-Cécile Dubois, a late but very welcome addition to the programme, will be offering Argentine tango workshops throughout the week.
Amazingly good vegetarian food, convivial company in an atmosphere of calm excitement, expectation of future delights and unseen organisation! Book now!
