Made Spring Festival 2020 (Cancelled)
Fri May 22 – Thu May 28
Cancellation of our May Spring Festival
Due to the current situation we have decided to cancel the Spring Festival at Kinnersley Castle. I am hopeful that we can programme these amazing artists next year.
It is certainly a strange year, lots to learn … let’s hope we can meet in November.
Friday evening of 22nd to Thursday breakfast 28th May
This year we are running the spring event for an extra day so it will finish on Thursday morning after breakfast.
Detailed below are the booked artists for our May Spring Festival. Apart from playing for the evening bal and giving acoustic mini concerts, several of the artists will be offering music workshops.
Rémi Geffroy, whom many will remember from The Winter School run last year at Gaunts House, will be with us for the full five days offering accordion and dance workshops.
Outremanche, a trio we haven’t heard for many years, will be playing for the bal during their three day stay, Saturday to Monday.
Trio Forj, a band from Brittany arrive with dance instructor Ronan Autret on Sunday, offering dance & music workshops during their three day stay.
La Base Duo, who arrive on Friday and leave Tuesday will be giving guitar and violin workshops.
Familiar Kinnersley wonders Steve Turner & Helena Torpy (Sunday) also Mike & Blanche (Wednesday) will be playing for the bal.
An unexpected addition to the already rich programme arose when Hartwin Dhoore accordionist from Trio Dhoore contacted me to let me know he would be in the UK at the time of the festival and would like to play a bal. This is now confirmed and he will be playing a solo bal on Tuesday
As normal there will be a full programme of dance and music workshops during the day. This will be finalised in March and put on line. The atmosphere at Kinnersley castle is very relaxed, inclusive and inviting. In May there are many opportunities to join music sessions in the garden and play games, last year we were able to use the zip wire which runs between the second largest Ginkgo tree in the UK and a splendid Lebanese Cedar, 50 mtr of panic …
Bookings open soon.
Our policy is to continue to source fruit and veg locally and buy organic. With the discovery of a nearby wholesale organic fruit and veg supplier, this year virtually all fruit and veg will be organic. We will also attempt to buy organic cereal based produce (flour, breakfast cereals, bread …) and dairy products (milk, butter…). All meals are vegetarian and we do cater for special diets.
